Assignment 2: Google Slides Presentation: Traditional Food of a Spanish-Speaking Country
Step 1: Choose a Spanish-speaking country and look up what some of their traditional foods:
Step 2: Create a Google Slide presentation. Slide 1 should be titled "Comida en [insert name of country]" by [your name]
Add 5 more slides. Each slide should be titled with the name of the food in Spanish, an image of the food, and a brief description of what the food is.
Your google slide presentation can be shared with [email protected].
This is due Monday, March 23, 2020 by 3pm.

1. List five facts about the Rivera Mural Court at the DIA that the video states.
2. Focus on one person in the mural.
A) Describe that person. What do they look like? How are they being shown? (heroic? strong? villainous? etc)
B) Why do you think Rivera chose to paint them that way?
3. What do you think Rivera's impression of Detroit is like, based on these murals? Do you agree with him?
4. If you were going to paint a mural of Detroit, what would you include?

- How do the different elements in this work contribute to a central theme or idea?
- How does the choice of [color, perspective, or other visual elements] communicate the central idea?
- What do you think is good about this painting? What is not so good?
- Do you think the person who painted this do a good or bad job? What makes you think so?
- Why do you think other people should see this work of art?

Week 3: Reflection
This week marks the last week in Quarter 3. For your final assignment (assigned Mon. 3/30, due Thurs 4/2). you will choose between the following two options:
1. Choose a hispanic or latino recording arist (such as Juanes, Shakira, Carlos Santana, Celia Cruz, Ritchie Valens, Selena, Arsenio Rodriguez, Los Tigres del Norte, Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin, Pitbull) and listen to three of their songs. Write one paragraph about each song. Each paragraph should start with a topic sentence that states the song and the album on which it can be found. In each paragraph, give supporting sentences that state what the song sounds like (is it upbeat/downbeat, style/genre, what types of instrument is being played). What is the song about? If this song were to be used in a movie, what type of scene would be happening? You can also say if you like the song or if you would add it to your playlist.

2. Reflective writing: Write a three paragraph reflection about three different ways this pandemic has impacted you and/or life around you. Each paragraph should start with a topic sentence followed by supporting sentences that detail each impact. You can also describe your thoughts or feeling about the impact. This may be done in English. Below is the rubric:
You may type your response in an email directly to [email protected] , write it out in a Google doc and share it with [email protected] , or write it out on paper and take a picture/screenshot of it and email it to me (or send the pic to me on Remind).
