Week One Theme: Depression in Men

Step 2: Write a response in which you answer the following questions:
1. In your own words, summarize what the speaker is trying to say. This response should be 5-10 sentences.
2. Compare and contrast what he said with Andy went through in Tears of a Tiger. How was Andy's mental health situation similar? How was it different? Make sure and cite examples from the story. This should be 5-10 sentences.
3. In your opinion, how can we, as a society, make it easier for boys and men to be open about their mental health issues? 5-10 sentences.

2. Explore these poems and choose one of them to give a personal response. Your reponse should be a minimum of one paragraph and can answer questions like What is the writer trying to say? What is the mood of the poem? What kid of emotional response does it bring up in the reader? What images, sounds, smells, does it use to deliver its message?

2. In the first stanza, name 3 things that you do not understand about the world or people.
3. In the middle stanza, list 3 things that you do not understand most of all
4. In your last stanza, name 3 things that you DO understand

Week 3: Reflection
This week marks the last week in Quarter 3. For your final assignment (assigned Mon. 3/30, due Thurs 4/2). you will write a three paragraph reflection about three different ways this pandemic has impacted you and/or life around you. Each paragraph should start with a topic sentence followed by supporting sentences that detail each impact. You can also describe your thoughts or feeling about the impact. Below is the rubric:
